Danny Torres

CHIEF INVESTIGATIONS OFFICER

Daniel Torres has over 24 years of experience in Law Enforcement. Torres began his career in criminal justice in 1994 with Harris County Community Supervision Division as an adult probation officer. He transitioned to law enforcement in 1996, beginning with the University of Texas at Houston Police Department and then in 1999, with the Dallas Police Department where he served the citizens of Dallas for 21 years. Daniel was selected to the Dallas Police Departments Gang Unit in 2003 where he was promoted to the rank of Detective in 2006. Torres then moved to the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms Tobacco and Explosives as a Federal Task Force Officer assigned to the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Group IV.
During his investigative career, Torres engaged in undercover and surveillance operations, tactical operations, as well as complex conspiracy investigations against organized criminal street and prison gangs. Torres’ investigations have been featured in the Dallas Morning News, D Magazine, the Dallas Observer, and Texas Monthly. Torres is a recognized Gang Expert in State and Federal court and has appeared as a presenter and trainer at the Texas Gang Investigators Association annual conference, the Sam Houston State Correctional Institute, and the North Texas Crime Commission Safe Streets Conference.

Mark Markulec

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Mark Markulec has over 29 years of Federal, State and Local Law Enforcement experience with a strong history of leading high-performance teams to meet or exceed objectives. Markulec joined the Dallas Police Department in 1990. In 2002, he was promoted to the rank of Detective in the Dallas Police Department Gang Unit where he was quickly moved to the FBI’s Safe Streets Gang task force. During his investigative career, Markulec engaged in fugitive apprehension, surveillance operations and developed operations targeting organized offenders. As a measure of his ability, Markulec was awarded the US Attorney General’s Excellence in Law Enforcement Award in 2019. Markulec is a recognized gang expert in State and Federal Court.

Dean Long

CHIEF BUSINESS PLANNING OFFICER

Dean Long has 7 years of experience in Law Enforcement combined with twenty-six years of Corporate Business experience. Long joined the Dallas Police Department in 1990 were he spent 5 years in Patrol and another 2 years in
the Dallas Police Department Gang Unit targeting organized crime activity. In 1998 he made the transition to Corporate going to work for AT&T. Over the past 26 years at AT&T he has worked in positions all providing a foundation for leadership, staffing, finance and technical process improvement.
